Description

Discord stretched his arms and yawned, before cleaning his coat from dust and pebbles, only residues of his prison. Then, he finally glanced down at the girl in front of him.
Pinkie looked back at him, swallowing her nervousness: the last time she saw him was a year ago, when she and her friends sealed the spirit of chaos into his stone trap. He hadn't changed since then, she tought, before realizing that spirits and deities don't change a lot after all, not within a mere year for sure. She found herself wondering if he found her changed instead, but fought that thoughts away, biting her lips as she met his prying eyes.
Discord sniffed before asking: << So it is you the one who asked Princess Celestia to set me free? >>
<< Yes >> Pinkie nodded and tried to make a little, friendly smile. Discord smiled as well, but his look didn't change.
<< Oh, I'm touched >> the spirit of chaos theatrically pressed an hand on his chest << Who would have guessed the element of laugher would have been so generous as well >>
<< You got to share, you got to care >> replied automatically Pinkie, a catchy jingle sounding in her mind. Discord chuckled.
<< Indeed >> he got down from the pedestal on which he stood, and Pinkie realized how tall he was neverthless, his long figure throwing an even longer shadow on the grass.
<< So... Pinkie Pie >> he laced his hands behind his back, walking toward her << I'm really curious you know. Why did you ask for my release? >>; he finally stopped in front of her, and winked: << Chocolate rain I presume >>
<< Oh no >> Pinkie giggled at his joke << That would be quite silly >>. Discord raised a brow, and smiled.
<< Why then? >> asked with a sly expression. Pinkie looked at him before lowering her eyes, remembering her meeting with the princess: a long, wearing conversation to persuade her that, even if he spread his chaos all over Equestria, it was unfair to think Discord was merely evil. That maybe he liked to laugh at people just because he didn't have someone to laugh with.
Strong in her convinctions, Pinkie proudly raised her head and looked at Discord: << I don't think you're as evil as you want us to believe >> she replied with a smile << I'm sure you have some goodness inside you. You could be good if you wanted to >>. Discord grinned.
<< And what makes you think I should want it? >> he asked.
Pinkie gaped at his fast reply: she hoped to impress him with those words, because they sounded so true to her . Instead, he was the one making her certainties waver, once again. But she didn't intend to give up: she clenched her fists and stared at him, her most hopeful smile shining on her face.
<< Because chaos doesn't need to be mean, right? >> she replied fiercely << I liked your chaos, and I'm not mean, I'm good. So you must be good as well, just like me >>.
A puzzled expression rose on Discord's face for an instant, widening his eyes in surprise; Pinkie was about to think she had finally convinced him, then a taunting smile curled up his lips.
<< And what if you're wrong? >> he supposed << What if you're the one like me instead? As evil as I am >>.
Pinkie tilted her head, before bursting into a frankly amused laugh: << No, I'm not >> she naturally rejected that absurdity, shaking her curly hair<< I'm good, I'm sure of that! >>.
Discord frowned, peeved by her confidence: his smile quickly turned into a spiteful grin.
<< Then I guess you believe I could be good just because of all the things I created back then >> he mocked her, his words now soaked with sarcasm; he stepped closer to her, and Pinkie gave him a confused look, unable to figure the reason of that sudden anger.
He leaned toward her and raised her chin with an hand, narrowing his lids as he pierced his look in her eyes. << Balloons gardens. Cotton candy clouds. Chocolate rain >> he enumerated << It must have been a wonderland for you, right? >>.
Pinkie looked at him with a baffled expression: his voice was sour, as if there was something wrong with what he just said. She blinked, abashed: << Someone who can realize so many goodies can't be a bad person, right? >>.
Discord chuckled at her words.
<< Please, Pinkie Pie >> he sneered << Don't make me laugh >>.

Okaaaaay, so... This is one of those pics started with a "Uh, I want to draw these characters in this pose" and then "I wonder why they should be in this pose... Oh, maybe he's saying him this and that! But why is he saying this and that? Maybe because this happened...!" and finally ending up with a little story below. I think they're called "one shots".
This one is quite long, 'cause I don't like to draw (or write :D) away something I like to do. Moreover I wanted to summarize all the details I imagined in a single little story.
I'm italian, so forgive my grammar mistakes! Corrections are welcome! :)

Anyway, when I draw Discord and Pinkie in their human form, I always imagine "serious" stories behind them, while I prefer drawing them in their original form for silly situations. Dunno why ^^" Maybe they look cuter as a pony and a dragonequus.

As you may notice, I slightly changed Discord's outfit to make it more similar to his original appearance. I still have to figure how to put his wings though.
